Mayor Michael Caldwell is a successful entrepreneur, business owner, a former four-term member of the Georgia House of Representatives, and the 31st Mayor of the City of Woodstock. He is raising his family in downtown Woodstock, he has built his business in downtown Woodstock, and he is committed to building a City that feels like home.
Caldwell owns Black Airplane, an award-winning agency that has launched hundreds of digital products serving more than 100 million users and more than $250 million in end user transactions annually. As a proven technology leader in Georgia, Governor Brian Kemp appointed Caldwell to serve on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Technology Authority. Caldwell was also elected by the Mayors of Cherokee County to serve on the Atlanta Regional Commission and was appointed by Chairman Andre Dickens (the Mayor of Atlanta) to serve as the Vice Chairman of the ARC.
In 2012, Caldwell was elected the youngest state legislator in the United States and served Woodstock for eight years in Georgia’s House of Representatives. He championed ethics reform, term limits, and economic freedom across Georgia.
Michael grew up in Towne Lake and Woodstock, graduated from Cherokee County Public Schools, and earned his BBA in Finance from Kennesaw State University in less than three years. Michael and his wife Katie have three children, Oliver, Elizabeth, and Charlotte.
